Why the Floor Scrubber is Leaving Streaks

December 31, 2018 1 min read

The floor scrubber is leaving streaks because the squeegee has something, usually hair or dust, stuck between the squeegee and the floor. Correct this by dust mopping/sweeping before using the autoscrubber.  Your floor scrubber leaving streaks is nottotally avoidable. You should always keep a rag in your back pocket or attached to the scrubber to lift up and wipe off the squeegee blade.Careful not to do this with your bare hand as you may have glass or another sharp object that you’ve been dragging around. If you cut yourself with dirty scrubber water mixed in, you could be looking at an infection.

If this is a continual, frustrating issue, it’sprobably because the operator is never presweeping the halls. The front scrubber skirt is likely caked with dust bunnies. Those dust bunnies are going to break off little by little forever and catch on the squeegees. To remedy, clean off the dust/splash skirt on the scrub deck.

The other 10% is because the squeegee frame/assembly is out ofadjustment.  The squeegee has to be hitting the floor with the correct deflection.  If they’re standing straight up, then the squeegee loses vacuum/suction when it hits a low spot.
