Tennant Company, a global leader in cleaning equipment and solutions, expands its compact 20" walk behind scrubber portfolio with the launch of the economical Tennant T260.

T260 Comparison

Tennant T260 comparison spec chartScrub Deck Overview

The Tennant T260 is a pad assist walk behind scrubber. Pad assist scrubbers use the friction of the scrub deck against the floor to propel pr "pull" the machine forward.

Depending on the needs of your facility, the flooring types, and elevations in the levels of your flooring, the pad assist configuration may deter you from considering the T260.

If your facility requires transport drive, consider the T290, T300e, or the T300

The T260 brush deck is controlled manually by lowering and raising the brush deck with the foot pedal located on the lower right hand side of the machine.

Step down the pedal and move it to the right (as shown by the arrow) to raise the scrub deck, reverse the process in order to lower the scrub deck (as shown in the figure)

Installing and Uninstalling the Pad Driver or Brush

Unlike the T300 that has a magnetic pad driver/brush removal option, the process to change out a pad driver/brush on the T260 requires a little bit of elbow grease and resembles the installation process on Tennant's discontinued T3 model.

Place the brush plate in the center of the brush plate cover, hold the brush plate upward with both hands in balance, and put one pin on the brush plate into the brush buckle installation hole through the observation port, and shake it from side to side, so that the other two pins also enter the hole of the brush buckle. When the brush plate is balanced, then immediately forcefully rotate counterclockwise, and snap into the brush buckle.

Squeegee Assembly Overview

The T260 squeegee assembly is controlled manually. Lower and raise the squeegee assembly with the rear handle, when lowered, the vacuum motor will start, when raised the vacuum motor will turn off after a slight delay.

The Tennant T260's squeegee assembly has the same engineering as Tennant's T300e and T300 series of walk behind scrubbers and comes standard  with Linatex squeegee blades.

The squeegee assembly itself requires no periodic maintenance other than squeegee blade replacement and replacement of yellow knobs in the event they are damaged or lost.

Each squeegee blade has four sides. When the blades are worn, you only need to exchange the two ends of the blade and use the other intact surfaces. If all four edges are worn, replace the blade.

Remove the squeegee assembly by loosening the two inside yellow knobs.

Unscrew the two yellow nuts on the outside and turn them to the top. Turn the squeegee over and take out the blade (as shown in the figure below)

Recovery System Overview

Cleaning out the recovery tank on the Tennant T260 is a breeze, with a clam shell design, an operator can easily access the recovery tank lidtray and recovery tank for cleaning.

The T260 recovery tank is drained with the black rear drain hose

Solution Tank Overview

The Tennant T260 is front filled using a bucket or a hose and your approved cleaning chemical. Not sure which chemicals to use? Learn more about Tennant's True Cleaning Solutions. If you are interested in learning how to go chemical free with Tennant's Nano Technology, consider the T300e Nano Technology or T300 Nano Technology

The T260 has a solution control valve located at the rear of the machine, behind the squeegee assembly which is similar to Tennant's T300e design and Tennant's discontinued T3 model. The water flow is set by turning the yellow touch point knob to the desired flow. This allows for better consistency on cleaning, almost a “set and forget” setting since it is out of sight and out of mind.

Draining the solution tank is done through the bottom drain cap which isn’t ideal since this is a component that can get lost, which is why we recommend having a few of these caps on the shelf for easy service turnaround.

Cleaning the Solution Filter

The entire solution tank needs to be drained before this step, but overall, cleaning the solution filter is an easy task on the Tennant T260.

Simply unscrew the solution filter assembly, run it under warm water weekly and replace. Depending on the "hardness" of your water, you may need to do this more often.

Controls and Battery System

The Tennant T260 expands on Tennant’s commitment to engineering user-friendly equipment.

The control panel on the T260 contains a key switch (red), green brush motor activation button, paddles to engage the brush motor and the battery indicator screen that displays power consumption and battery health meter.

This design is similar to Tennant's discontinued T3 model

Battery and Charger

The Tennant T260 is a 24V system, that comes standard with 135AH AGM maintenance free batteries and an offboard charger with no options to change the battery configuration.

Depending on the needs of your facility, this single choice battery and charger option may deter you from considering the Tennant T260.

Customers looking for other battery options may consider the T290T300eT300, T300e Lithium or the T300 Lithium

Warranty

The Tennant T260 comes with the following warranty coverage

  • 10 years on rotomold components, i.e. the body
  • 3 years or 1000 hours for parts (The Tennant T290, T300e and T300 comes with 3 years or 2000 hours)
