WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TENNANT T500 AND T500E AUTOSCRUBBER?

If we were to summarize this entire article we would simply say, the T500 comes standard with many added features and benefits, whereas the T500e comes basic with the option to add features and benefits.

However, there are many differences between the Tennant T500 and Tennant T500e that we will cover in this article.

Overview of the T500 and T500e

Both the T500 and T500e can be built with a 26”, 28” or 32” disk deck, 28” cylindrical deck  or a 28” orbital deck with a variety of available brushes and pads based on your cleaning needs.

Lead acid, AGM, TPPL  or lithium-ion are your battery configurations on the T500 and T500e with the choice for onboard or offboard charging.

For facilities with sustainability, chemical consumption and risk reduction goals, both the T500 and T500e can be configured with Tennant's Nano Technology which helps aide in reducing the environmental footprint of operating the T500 or T500e.

Both the T500 and T500e come standard with the integrated storage solutions.

The T500 and T500e come standard with Tennant’s Insta-Fit (magnetic head) which allows for easy installation and uninstallation of the pad driver or brush.

The Insta-Fit is a perfect choice if you manage a larger fleet of machines that requires frequent operator trainings. Even the newest operators can learn the Insta-Fit process in a matter of seconds.

Differences in Appearance and What They Mean

Pictured on the left is the T500 and pictured on the right is the T500e.

First, the T500 houses the control panel on the rear of the machine in a fixed position (yellow), whereas the T500e houses the control panel attached to the recovery tank lid (yellow). If the recovery tank lid on the T500e shuts too hard and often, there is a risk that components within the control panel can loosen or become damaged.

The T500's vacuum motor (green) is sealed and protected inside the recovery tank, whereas the T500e's vacuum motor (green) is exposed and not in a protected state.

Second, the rear of the machines also have noticeable differences. The T500, pictured on the left, has a closed hose management system (yellow). The T500e, pictured on the right, has an open hose management system (yellow)that has a higher tendency of wear and tear.

The T500e also has its onboard charger (green) and circuit breakers (orange) exposed and on the rear of the machine. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as the machine is being properly cared for, having the onboard charger and circuit breakers externally, allow for faster troubleshooting. On the T500, the onboard charger is internal and the circuit breakers are found in front of the control panel, accessed by lifting the recovery tank.

Lastly, the recovery tanks are noticeably different. The T500 recovery tank (pictured on the left) is fully accessible and includes a debris tray which catches larger debris, thereby preventing it building up in the recovery tank. The T500e recovery tank (pictured on the right) is less accessible and DOES NOT include a debris tray.

Quiet Mode on the T500

Quiet mode is standard on the T500 (not available on the T500e), bringing the DBA of the machine from 67 DBA to 62 DBA which is like comparing a washing machine to an electric toothbrush.

Quiet mode is the ideal choice for healthcare settings, daytime cleaning and any other noise sensitive environment.

Control Panel

T500

There are two available control panels offered on the T500. Pro-Membrane (standard) and Pro-Panel (Upgrade).

The Pro-Membrane (standard)- Operators can adjust the solution flow and down pressure of the machine right from the panel. It also contains other warning lights, battery health meter, and other optional add ons depending on your specific needs. A facility can also preset cleaning modes through the zone setting feature.

The Pro-Panel (Upgrade)- A complete fleet management and training tool. The pro-panel provides access to training videos, machine software information, supervisor controls, machine settings,  with lock-out functionality. Information can also be displayed in different languages depending on the needs of your facility.

T500e

The Membrane Panel (Standard)- Operators can adjust the solution flow and down pressure of the machine right from the panel. It also contains other warning lights, battery health meter, and other optional add ons depending on your specific needs.
